According to the FMARD, women account for about 70% of the agricultural workforce in Nigeria but yet under-represented and marginalized. We will increase awareness for women in agriculture, giving them an edge and maximum representation using our platform.

It is also noted that due to the high rate of illiteracy in the rural area, there is poor dissemination of information to most farmers in the country, which has dramatically affected productivity and turnovers in this sector. Using Lotam as a platform to educate and pass relevant information as it concerns agriculture.

Gateway to goverment and NGO support.

Women have lesser access to govt resources, administration, information and services, including limited access to land and credit facilities. This has resulted to women having to manage significantly smaller farms and receive lesser income. Help improve the income of of these farmers by help interface between relevant govt agencies and the farmers, bringing them information, easy access to govt loans, credit facilities and incentives, infrastructure and amenities.

A firm regulated pricing that suits all.

There is a current hike in food market prices due to numerous middle-men between the farmer and final consumers, and other economic factors. This platform will help resolve pricing challenges, giving consumers and businesses access to farm produce at farm gate price.

Logistics

Ease of access to the market.

Over time, farmers have been burdened with the complexities of getting necessary farm inputs, this affected production at different level of farming and has also discouraged farmers from upscaling their production. This platform will give farmers easier access to farm input (supplies, tools, equipment etc.) at manufacturer and distributor price, giving them a great opportunity to upscale production.

Ease of access to the market.

For the majrity of farmers, the major problem that stands between them and the market place is proper Logistics, over the years this has lead to decline in their sales as the difficult persists. Using the lotam platform, logistics would be an added advantage for farmers as it would be only a few clicks away.
